FTP
FTP Believe it or not, to explore the Web with Inteet Explorer or Netscape is relatively new. It was not so long ago (ten to fifteen years), when the instruments used on the Inteet (not web) have been e-mail, gopher (a menu-based browser), archie (a locator file and directory) and FTP. Letters of support for FTP File Transfer Protocol, and what you can do FTP - file transfer from one place to another. In fact, FTP is by far the most efficient (the fastest) to copy large files over the Inteet. Today many people use a sophisticated FTP client to get the files and their websites. This has several advantages over the method commonly used by supporters of free web sites. Many beginners who do not know better the use of gadgets for your welcome free to amend their websites. Problems with this are many and varied. First, the gadgets are not very impressive as editors. Most users who want to create a website of any size and complexity are terribly limited by these tools. Probably the only good thing of these tools is to give people a beautiful and easy way to get started creating web sites without a big leaing curve. But my word that exceed them as soon as possible. Moreover, one major problem is the change is made directly on the host site. This means that you do not have a backup of your site on your hard disk. If your guest decides to close the account, fails or is unavailable, you lose your site. If you want to have a frustrating experience, just try to call your host and ask them to restore your site from one of your backup! Other people use products such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage, the site, including the updating of skills. These are often not very practical for work or perform unexpected actions. For example, I spent several days trying to figure out why my CGI routines were not working, until I realized that is full of FrontPage files correctly. From that moment forward, I use an FTP package to upload my files. Most mode FTP clients are very simple to use. Just run the program, enter some basic information (such as address, account name and password) and the connection. Once connected, you can usually just drag the files from the hard drive on the site. Precisely because this is a good idea to use more of an FTP client, such as FrontPage (or Dreamweaver), or directly in the drafting of a website host? FTP is fast and efficient - in the end, is actually an FTP of the most effective ways to transfer large amounts of data over the Inteet. Do not believe me? It tries to transfer a very large file, say a megabyte, using FTP. That actually moves, not? Using FTP, you have an automatic backup - If you use FTP to modify files locally on your computer. As changes are made to copy the file on your host computer. This means that no matter what happens to your guest, even if the computer is completely destroyed, you have a copy of the site on your disk. The reverse is also true - if your team is the garbage can recover your site from your host system. FTP gives you control - You can choose to transfer binary files (executables and compressed files) or ASCII (text file), if necessary. This is an advantage compared to FrontPage, which does not give you the chance. This means that you can not use FrontPage to upload your site, if it is used, for example, CGI routines. Some good FTP include the following projects. AceFTP - This FTP client has the ability to run multiple tasks simultaneously. This means that you can start a long-copy, see the page and copy some small files at the same time. AutoFTPPro - has the ability to schedule transfers at certain times. The model allows you to create a model that can make it much easier to transfer future. CuteFTP - This is the product that you want to use. It 'very easy to use, with a simple interface that enables drag and drop. Know, Inc - Various FTP clients. FtpNetdrive maps an FTP site as a drive letter, which integrates directly to your desktop. District adds inteet FTP site directly to the network neighborhood. These are two very pleasant. WebDrive - WebDrive FTP Client is a Windows 95/98/NT software that allows a map of the Inteet to an FTP site using the local unit to standard FTP protocol. This allows you to connect to an FTP site and family perform file operations like copy, xcopy, and directory with Windows Explorer, a DOS window, or any other application, like Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. WebDrive FTP allows any instant application that reads or writes files by allowing the application to read or write files from the archives of the FTP site. WS_FTPPro - Another good FTP client with the program, speed and integration in the browser. This allows you to enter ftp:// in the address bar of your browser to run the program.
